Product Certification
Field Gear towels are manufactured to the highest of standards and we believe that the only way to legitimately lay claim to being the best, is to attain internationally recognised endorsements.
The certifications start with the manufacturer. Our manufacturer is certified to ISO 9000:2000 standards for its Quality Management System. This certification requires ongoing audits to remain valid and ensures that the production processes are maintained at a high standard. The scope of certification is for the production of fabric waterproofing solutions and sports towels and is issued by the Korean Standards Association.
Next comes the product. Field Gear towels are certified by Eco-Tex, an organisation that sets safety and health standards for the manufacture of textiles. Fabrics certified to Eco-Tex standards are guaranteed to be manufactured in an environmentally friendly process and are safe to be used directly on the human body. Eco-Tex is a worldwide consortium of leading textile manufacturers based in Germany that was formed in 1992. This independent organization audits the entire manufacturing process of fabrics and textiles, delving into the areas of quality, effects on the environment, safety, health and suitability for human usage. The audits are extremely meticulous, scrutinizing the processes from the production of the fibres right up to the end-products.
In addition, the anti-bacterial properties of Field Gear towels are also tested. This involved a series of laboratory-controlled tests that proved the Dr Bacty protection built into the towels are up to 99.9% effective in eliminating bacteria.
